L'Oréal Infallible 24H Fresh Wear Foundation Powder Foundation in 330 Hazelnut

Smile From U. by Jinsang

I'm not sure why I stumbled on a video about this foundation, but I did, and after a rave review - I humoured my curiosity to search into it a little more. At a quick glance, I gathered its main selling points - apparently, it went viral via TikTok, it's dupable in quality to Fenty pressed powders, and it's good for oily skin.

After hearing such praises, it didn't take me long to try my best to find it for a good deal and the best shade for me. I managed to find it for £7.99 (vs £12.99) - the delivery was smooth, the product is genuine, and eBay has fast become a place I look to find great deals on high street/drugstore makeup - yes, eBay ...

The Shade

The shade range for this foundation is poor, especially in the UK. There are only 6 shades to chose from in total  - and 2 out of the 6 shades are suitable for those with dark or deep skin. On the upside, it didn't take me long to chose between the two, and whilst Hazelnut is a bit light around the periphery of my face (forehead + jawline),  it's actually a great overall fit. The orange tones help to brighten my skin without turning me into a ghostly mess. Now, if orange undertones don't suit your skin, I can see how it would be frustrating, but for me, it's near enough perfect.

My Initial Impression

I applied the foundation with a sponge and my first thought was "wow, it has amazing coverage" and is very flattering on the skin.  It literally had me guessing "who diss?!".  Below I have included a picture of how it looks on my skin (pics taken via my camera phone in front of natural lighting - oh the things I do to help).

from a no makeup "I need a rest!" face  where I swiped the shade across my cheek to jawline - to - "who diss?!"

Hopefully, you can see that it does brighten/lighten my skin, it has great coverage  (even with a random and rushed application). I wouldn't say I'd be comfortable wearing this on its own, to where it covers my blemishes because it is quite light - but I would/do wear it - on top of foundation, or loosely applied with a powder brush, to either set my foundation or provide a loose base.

End Thoughts: I like it and understand the hype - because it's true (looks great IRL & photos). I've been out of the makeup loop for a while so, maybe there's something better but, after finishing my second MAC Skinfinish in Dark - I am happy to say that L'Oreal Fresh Wear Powder is filling its shoes/space nicely.
