What Does It Mean?: The Internet Is In Shock Over Beyoncé Liking A Photo Of Kylie Jenner In $5K Nike Sneakers - BET

Posted: 10 Jan 2020 12:00 AM PST

It appears that Kylie Jenner is a free agent when it comes to promoting sneaker brands.

Back in 2018, Kylie revealed that she was an Adidas ambassador after it was rumored that her brother-in-law, Kanye West, wasn't happy about her working with Puma. Kylie heavily promoted the brand by being photographed in only Adidas brand sneakers for over a year, so when she posted a photo in a pair of Nike Air Jordans this past Monday, the internet speculated the terms of her contract.

Yesterday (Jan. 9), Kylie posted another photo to her 156 million Instagram followers wearing a limited-release pair of "What The" Nike SB Dunk Low that resells for $5,000. And Beyoncé liked it! We're not sure what any of that means, but "Queen Bey" doesn't like photos on IG, so it's a huge deal.

Bey just announced her Adidas x Ivy Park collaboration that will be dropping on January 18, however, according to Complex, Kylie's deal ended on December 31 last year and will not be renewed.

Was the superstar just admiring Kylie's sneaker game, her snatched waist, or her massive closet? Not sure, but we will be tuned in to find out!

Beyoncé’s Outrageous Emmys Snub Has Twitter Demanding Answers - BET

Posted: 15 Sep 2019 12:00 AM PDT

Homecoming, Beyoncé's concert film that captured her epic Coachella performance, was a tour de force that broke ratings records and shifted the culture. As such, it was celebrated with six Emmy nominations. But, somehow, the artfully created documentary was snubbed in all six categories — and even lost out to Carpool Karaoke in one.

Bey was not present at Saturday night's (September 14) Creative Arts Emmys, the first of a two-night event where a number of primetime TV awards are being handed out before next week's Emmys ceremony on September 22.

Beyoncé was nominated for six Emmys, including outstanding variety special (pre-recorded), outstanding costumes for variety, non-fiction or reality programming; outstanding directing for a variety special; outstanding music direction; outstanding production design for a variety special and outstanding writing for a variety special.

Many expected the superstar singer to take home an Emmy for outstanding variety special (pre-recorded) for her Netflix documentary Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé, however she's reportedly lost out to James Cordon's Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live from Liverpool, among others.

Homecoming went home without an award, losing to the aforementioned Carpool Karaoke for best variety special, but it also did not win over RuPaul's Drag Race for best costumes for variety, nonfiction or reality programming, Springsteen on Broadway for best directing for a variety special, Fosse/Verdon for best music direction, Rent for outstanding production design for a variety special, and Hannah Gadsby: Nanette for best writing for a variety special.

The latest snubs make Beyoncé zero for eight at the Emmy Awards. Her visual album Lemonade was nominated — but not awarded — in 2016 for Emmys in the categories of outstanding variety special and outstanding directing for a variety special.

After learning of the snubs, the outraged was immediate. Many pointed out that Beyoncé and her staff of hundreds spent eight months to prepare for her legendary 2018 Coachella performance, while James Corden's Carpool Karaoke is a, shall we say, much simpler concept.

Beyoncé Calls For Rodney Reed’s Freedom Ahead Of Nov. 20 Execution - BET

Posted: 08 Nov 2019 12:00 AM PST

Written by Danielle Ransom

  1. On Thursday (Nov. 7), the global superstar voiced her support for Reed in a note published to her website. In the message, she implored Texas Governor Greg Abbott to "please take a hard look at the substantial evidence in the Rodney Reed case that points to his innocence."

"Be honest. Be fair. Give him back his life," the letter reads with a link to a Change.org petition titled "Stop the Execution of Rodney Reed!"

  2. Support from celebrities and everyday people alike has continued to pour in from across the nation in an urgent cry to stop Reed's execution, who is set to be put to death in 13 days on Nov. 20.

The Texas inmate has languished on death row for the past two decades after he was sentenced to prison for the rape and murder of Stacey Stites in 1996. The 51-year-old's lawyers have been fighting for Reed to be retried based on new evidence that could possibly exonerate Reed.

According to the Innocence Project, investigators made numerous glaring errors during the initial investigation and unjustly sentenced Reed to a life behind bars for a crime they adamantly hold that he did not commit. The independent criminal justice reform organization found that key evidence and testimonies were omitted, which also implicates Stites was slain by her fiancé, Jimmy Fennell, a local police officer, instead.

  4. As of Friday (Nov. 8), the Change.org petition's numbers have skyrocketed to over 343,000 signatures as the tally continues to rise. For further updates on Rodney Reed's case, a Twitter account has been created where the latest news on his case is being shared as it continues to develop.

Rundown Melbourne house featured in Beyoncé's No Angel video clip undergoes dramatic transformation - Daily Mail

Posted: 22 Oct 2019 12:00 AM PDT

A rundown Melbourne cottage that was featured in Beyoncé's No Angel film clip has undergone a dramatic transformation since being purchased for $650,000 at auction in 2016.

Unfortunately for fans, the shabby two-bedroom home in Brunswick bears no resemblance to the once irreplaceable location of music history.

The property's new owners have so far painted over the green exterior, removed the chimney and added a separate level - and the construction is still ongoing.

The auction had a large audience in 2016, as hundreds of hipsters, locals and prospective buyers came to witness the home go to the highest bidder.

Nelson Alexander's real estate agent Luke Sacco, who sold the home at the time, told Domain: 'It was pretty rough. It needed a complete renovation.'

He also added about the property: 'It was a weatherboard house and it hadn't been touched in forever. It was unlivable, [the new owner] had to do something with it.'

The previous owner, elderly Jeanette Meadows, was paid $300 to use her house as a backdrop for American singer Beyonce's music video.

Jeanette and husband Roy Meadows, who sat peacefully in the crowd on deckchairs as the auction took place, had no idea who Queen Bey was when she came knocking in October 2013.

There was a lot of speculation from fans as to what the pop diva was actually doing at the site, and it was originally thought she was shooting promotional images for her Australian Mrs Carter tour.

But it was later revealed she was dressed in the white leotard and fur coat at the turquoise home to film the clip as part of her secretly produced self-titled album, released December that year without any promotion.

The opportunity to boost its sale price wasn't lost on the Nelson Alexander realtors either, who boasted the 'charming' home was 'most notably the scene of pop megastar Beyoncé's 2013 No Angel clip'.

Ms Meadows had lived there with her husband Roy for more than 50 years, according to Herald Sun.

Then 80, she told media at the time she wasn't 'not keen on her at all', and appeared confused by the attention.

It needed work! Although the two-bedroom home in the trendy Melbourne area was sold to a modest price, the buyer was aware they would need to fork out much more on renovating the decrepit home

'I didn't know who it was, I thought it was somebody's fiancé,' The Daily Edition reported her saying.

'But that's how you pronounce her name. What is she, French or something or what?'

Fans soon flocked to the location to recreate their own photo shoots outside the home after an image of Beyoncé spread on social media in October 2013.
